She is very excited to start her general surgery training in Ventura, CA. She looks forward to exploring more of the west coast in her free time. Richa Asija was born and raised in Toronto — she is a proud Canadian!
Her surgical interests include trauma, cardio-thoracic surgery, and surgical oncology. Outside of medicine, she loves to dance, travel and spend time with her family. She is excited to stay in California for her surgical residency in Ventura and is looking forward to being a part of the CMHS family. Muhammed Bilal grew up in Houston, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Houston with a major in Biology and minor in Psychology.
Muhammed initially chose to pursue a path in Family Medicine, but he found that his true passion was General Surgery. His hobbies include clay target shooting, hiking, traveling, and Muay Thai.
Jonathan Chino was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies, and obtained a degree in neuroscience. After spending a year working as a medical and billing assistant in a vascular surgery clinic, he attended the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
His lifelong goal of becoming a surgeon has further narrowed into an interest in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys playing any and all sports, reading, video games, and spending time outdoors.
Farewell to Dr. Bentley
Kelly Fairbairn grew up near Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation, she was hired as a research associate at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she worked in a translational critical care lab. She participated in a variety of projects focused in such areas as sepsis, anticoagulation, and vitamin D.
She was able to present her research at national and international symposiums and publish a number of manuscripts and abstracts. During this time, she realized that research would not fulfill her desire to care for patients, so she chose to attend medical school at Touro University, California. Outside of academics, Kelly loves to travel, take her two dogs to the beach or for hikes, ski, enjoy great food and wine, and spend time with her husband, Adam.
She is extremely excited about the opportunity to complete residency at Community Memorial Hospital and could not ask for a more supportive and balanced work environment. Ryan Fairley grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and as a child showed horses competitively. He made his way to University of South Dakota to major in Biology. While there, Ryan earned a thesis scholar, became a school ambassador, and was active in Greek life. After obtaining his bachelors, he was accepted in to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and developed a passion for general surgery.
Becoming a surgeon was appealing to him because of the ability to see various pathologies and treating them first hand. Outside of medicine, Ryan has interests in running, tennis, watching Royals baseball, and catching up on television series. As a new resident of Southern California, he would like to learn how to surf. He is excited to call Ventura home for the next five years and at this time is undecided if he wants to pursue a surgical fellowship. Olga Garcia moved to the US from Russia at age While there she led the Fit Doctors Association and qualified for and competed in the Boston Marathon.
In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, volunteering, and being active. Her professional interests include acute care surgery, surgical oncology, teaching, and nutrition.

Garrett C. Jones was born and raised in Southern Oregon. He attended Oregon State University and graduated with honors, receiving degrees in Biology and International Studies. A passion for travel lead him to Mexico, where he performed international research that was presented and earned him thesis scholar. He has also spent time in Ecuador, completing a medical internship. His medical education and international experience drove his desire to train in surgery and his plans to serve the medical community on a global scale. The results must be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication.
The Large Animal Surgery Residency Program at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is designed to develop the knowledge and skill of the resident in clinical large animal surgery. By offering a residency training program, the Section of Large Animal Surgery has taken the initial responsibility of providing a sufficient caseload, experienced professional personnel, assistance in the production of publications and scientific presentations, and the physical environment in which to conduct ACVS approved training, including nonsurgical rotations each of 80 hours in anesthesiology, radiology, internal medicine and pathology.
The resident has the responsibility for maintaining the high level of organization and dedication necessary for completion of the program. The Hospital for Large Animals is located on acres of prime rurally set campus and within easy reach of Worcester 13 miles and Boston 47 miles. Close affiliations with public and private regional medical and biotechnology centers exist.
General Surgery : Residents
The applicant should be aware that the hospital has a dress code. Appointments will be made for 12 months with annual renewal based on satisfactory completion of the previous year. A certificate of residency is awarded to the candidate upon successful completion of the training program. Residents participate in the University benefits programs, including health and life insurance. Annual vacation, a travel allotment and professional liability insurance is provided.
